A coach is someone who can help you improve your life, feel better, and achieve your goals. A self-care coach is a coach that is dedicated to helping you learn to take care of yourself, once and for all. We have all heard the oxygen mask directions, you must put on your own mask first before helping others. Self-care is the same. The best way to truly help those that need us, is to learn to take care of ourselves so we can show up as our best self for those that need us.

Simply put, coaching enables you to identify what’s going on in your own brain. When you feel unable to get the results you want or feel frustrated with your life, coaching is the answer. A life coach can help you recognize where you’re stuck and show you exactly what needs to change when you can’t see it yourself. A life coach is like a best friend who will call you out when you’re showing up in a way you don’t want to, give you tough love, and believe in you long before you may be able to. They help you create the exact life you’ve always wanted.

You can be coached on absolutely anything. However, my program focuses on learning to care for yourself. Self care is really anything that helps you take better care of yourself! Topics include managing stress, connecting with our children, reducing mom guilt, and exploring self care in several different domains such as physical, social, professional, & spiritual. I will show you the exact steps you need to take to make a permanent change. Solving your problem doesn’t have to be hard. Even the smallest life changes can have a huge impact on our wellbeing.
When you decide to work with a life coach, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you get unstuck and start changing your life in ways that will blow your mind. You’ll start to understand your brain and why you’re doing what you do without having to beat yourself up to make any kind of change. You’ll discover your true potential and begin to notice amazing results. It will completely change your life.

When we work together, I will coach you and teach you. You’ll learn skills to apply to your life and your situation. I offer a program that you can follow on your own timeline. And skills that you can start to implement from day one. I help you identify some areas that you want to work on right away so you can gain momentum and feel success. As we work through the program, you will begin to gain life skills that you can build upon and work on to improve all the areas of your life, including your relationships. My program is designed to work with you and for you…not be one more thing on your to-do-list!
Once you can get to the root of your problem, you’ll gain control over the results you create in your life, and that’s when real change happens.

There is a time and place for therapy and there is a time and place for coaching. Coaching and therapy are different. Therapy is working with medical necessity. Coaching is not. To explain that a little further, therapy is best for people that have a medical need, such as a diagnosed mental illness. Coaching is best for people that have a situational or less severe problem. Therapy is focused on diagnosing and treating, coaching is not. This doesn’t mean that if you are in therapy you should not go to coaching. Coaching can be a great compliment to therapy! But, it is not a replacement for therapy if you have a medical need. Oftentimes people with situational life problems go to a therapist for help because they don’t know about coaching and all it has to offer. Another major difference is time. Frequently clients can spend one hour a week for up to three years working with a therapist. Coaching allows a client to get relief from a situational problem much sooner because it combines education, one-on-one sessions, group sessions, workbooks, accountability groups and so much more! Another big difference is cost. Going to a therapist for three years can cost close to $20,000 because of copays, out of pocket expenses, and deductibles. Many insurance plans offer minimal coverage for therapy. Coaching allows a person to get help with a situational problem (not a medical problem) at a much lower cost. Again coaching is not a replacement for therapy but a great addition or a more affordable option for clients without a medical need.
-
Nope. I want to be crystal clear, this program is not therapy. What I am offering in strictly coaching. Although I am trained as a therapist, this program is not therapy. Coaches have much more freedom and flexibility in working with Clients and this program follows a coaching model.

I spent many years working as a school counselor. I worked with children, adolescents, teachers, and families. After the pandemic, I went back to school to get additional courses needed to work as a “therapist.” My goal was to leave education and work in a mental health center. I spent so much time trying to help families access mental health services when a crisis arose. They faced so many barriers! They were put on waitlists or sent to emergency rooms. Insurance did not cover many things and they were just left confused. I hoped to be a therapist that would make a difference! What I found out is that therapists are stuck in a sometimes broken system. There is a lot of paperwork that goes into therapy, diagnosing, and treatment of a medical need. Insurance companies require lots of documentation.Therapists must balance their time to see patients and do all that outside work. Even the most skilled therapist can only work with about 25 patients on their caseload. Coaching allows me to help more people than I could in a therapy practice. But I have the freedom to work with a specific clientele on a topic I am passionate about. It’s a win- win!
